Love is an experience wherein the disjuncture between the infinite subjectivities of two people allows for the development of a world ‘from the perspective of difference’ and ‘the development of the truth of the two: the truth that derives from distinction as such’. Beginning with the quasi-metaphysical event of the absolutely contingent encounter, love is the construction of a world from a viewpoint ‘other than that of my mere impulse to survive or re-affirm my very own identity’.
