Because of the continuing feud, Hernandez was confirmed to be underneath investigation by the brand new York Police Department for possible involvement with the incident, regardless of being in Los Angeles on the time. In February 2018, Hernandez was assaulted by several men outside a Los Angeles airport shortly after arguing with Trippie Redd on Instagram. On May 8, 2018, Trippie Redd previewed the song "I Kill People" on Instagram, that includes Chief Keef and Tadoe, which was aimed as a diss toward Hernandez and Cuban Doll. He had finished capturing the music video for "FEFE" (that includes Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz) when the assailants grabbed him outdoors his house and pistol-whipped him. On July 24, 2018, Hernandez announced that a proportion of proceeds from sales of his Nicki Minaj-assisted hit single "Fefe" can be donated to various youth programs in New York. After Hernandez's November 2018 federal arrest on RICO prices, Trippie Redd mocked Hernandez's imprisonment in a video of him dancing to the tune of Akon's 2004 hit single "Locked Up", mimicking a jail scenario. Previous to his sexual misconduct charges, Hernandez served jail time as a minor for assault and the sale of heroin.
