The cops trace the rental car back to Tatum and so they arrest him and take him to the station home. Kojak and Crocker arrive again at Peggy's place to seek out Bettina dead. When Fairbanks begins to argue with Cherneff concerning the cost for these plates, Cherneff, who has solely been given the second plate, shoots him lifeless.
