The squadron, now flying E-2Bs, were assigned to Carrier Air Wing 2 (CVW-2) and made three Western Pacific/Indian Ocean deployments on board USS Ranger, before assignment to Carrier Air Wing eight (CVW-8) aboard USS Nimitz, for a Mediterranean and Indian Ocean deployment.
