15 Nexstar Media Group removes thirteen television stations it owns and/or operates (WPIX/New York City, WPHL/Philadelphia, WTEN-WXXA/Albany, WIVB-WNLO/Buffalo, WPRI-WNAC/Providence, WRIC/Richmond, WHTM/Harrisburg, WAVY-WVBT/Norfolk, and WDCW-WDVM/Washington, D.C.) and its information/leisure channel NewsNation from Verizon Fios, someday after Verizon and Nexstar fail to renew their expired carriage settlement. 1 The Walt Disney Television suite of networks (together with Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX, National Geographic, and eight ABC-owned native stations) are dropped from Dish Network and vMVPD supplier Sling Tv, one day after Dish and Disney fail to renew a carriage deal that expired on September 30. The networks return to Dish and Sling on October 2, after what Disney terms a "handshake agreement" to work toward a brand new retransmission pact between the 2 sides. Fox Sports can have the "B" package deal, which incorporates 26 football video games on Fox and FS1, whereas including a slate of males's and ladies's basketball video games for the first time that will air on each networks. After being operated below Paramount Media Networks (and its earlier iterations) and jointly managed alongside MTV since its January 1985 launch, Paramount Global shifts oversight of VH1 to Bet Media Group (below the purview of BETMG CEO Scott Mills).
